Biography:

Jennifer K. Payne is an attorney at Law Firm Carolinas whose practice focuses on family law. Based in Greensboro, she represents clients throughout North Carolina in divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, equitable distribution, and other family law matters.

Jennifer has practiced law in North Carolina since 2010. She helps clients understand their options and evaluate approaches to resolving disputes, including negotiation, mediation, collaborative family law, and litigation. Her practice also includes adoption, termination of parental rights, and name changes.

Jennifer is a Certified Family Financial Mediator, Certified Collaborative Law Professional, and parenting coordinator. In addition to representing clients, she serves as a neutral mediator and provides parenting coordination services in appropriate matters.

Before joining Law Firm Carolinas, Jennifer worked extensively in private family law practice, including operating her own firm. She also served as a Guardian ad Litem Attorney-Advocate in Guilford County, representing children in abuse, neglect, and dependency proceedings. Her background includes serving as a Managing Attorney and Director of Attorney Development and Compliance with a multistate family law firm.

Raised in North Carolina, Jennifer has lived and worked in communities across the state. She brings that experience to helping clients address the legal and practical concerns that arise during family transitions.

Outside the office, Jennifer enjoys gardening, cooking, reading, and playing tennis. She has three dogs, two of whom she raised through Canine Companions as part of its service dog program.
